The datterino is a small, elongated tomato, rich in sugar, with a very thin skin. It is jarred whole, plain.

The flavour is bright and sweet, with little acidity. The fruit stays firm and melts as it cooks.

A few minutes in a pan with olive oil and garlic are enough for a pasta sauce. It goes with fish, tops a pizza or is simply served warmed.
