The name comes from Sicilian dialect and means “chopped”. Sun-dried tomatoes are finely chopped with garlic, oregano and oil.

The tomato flavour is highly concentrated. A spoonful is enough to dress pasta, top a bruschetta or lift a vegetable stuffing.
